Description Artificial Photosynthesis is among the most promising technologies for solar fuel generation from CO2. A novel concept of photosynthetic membranes using soap films is currently being investigated within the framework of the European project Sofia. This thesis focuses on the experimental testing of the different modules of a newly developed prototype of a photocalytic reactor for artificial photosynthesis using soap films. Experimental activities will be targeted to the understanding of the behavior and control of soap films within the modules. The generated experimental data will be analysed and interpreted. Experiments will be carried out in collaboration with the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) at Politecnico di Torino. This thesis can be combined with an internal internship (tirocinio) at Politecnico di Torino.
Required skills Strong interest for the topic and attitude for experimental activities. Friendliness with MATLAB is welcome.
