Description VAWTs are an increasingly attractive alternative to traditional Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWTs) due to their potential advantages in terms of scalability, efficiency, and suitability for urban environments.
The study begins with a comprehensive review of existing VAWT designs and their performance characteristics. It then delves into the development of a high-fidelity CFD model that accurately simulates the complex aerodynamics and fluid flow patterns surrounding VAWTs. This model takes into account various factors such as blade geometry, wind speed, turbulence, and rotor configuration to predict the turbine's behavior under different operating conditions.
