Descrizione In-orbit additive manufacturing (AM) refers to the use of additive manufacturing techniques to produce parts directly in the space environment. This technology has the potential to enable on-demand manufacturing and repair of parts for satellites and space stations, reduce launch costs by producing parts in space rather than launching them from Earth, and enable the construction of large structures in orbit. However, in-orbit AM is still in the early stages of research and development. A number of challenges need to be overcome before the technology becomes operational. **The student is invited to contribute to filling the research gap on how to effectively recycle and manage space debris in a circular manner, and what the energy requirements are for different manufacturing processes in space.**
