Description Storage and retrieval systems are a fundamental facility in the logistic chain. Recently, automatic handling systems have been introduced, called AVS/RS (Autonomous Vehicle Storage and Retrieval Systems), consisting of several vehicles able to coordinate and implement complex routing logics.
The aim of the thesis is to define a methodology for designing an intelligent transport system for automatic warehouse to ensure:
(i) the reduction of loading and unloading times,
(ii) the modularity of the system so that it is adaptable to warehouse size,
(iii) the reduction of energy consumption.
The design choices will be implemented using a simulation software to be tested and compared.
