DEvelopment and Synthesis of hybrid zinc oxide nanocrystals for antitumor therapy

Description The candidate will develop the synthesis of ZnO nanocrystals through a novel technique involving the microwave radiation. Various charaterization techniques will be used to evaluate the nanoparticles, such as Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopies, Dynamic Light Scattering, Z-potential analysis and X-ray diffraction, as well as nanoparticle tracking analysis measurements at the Cancer Center in Candiolo (Turin). The produced nanoparticles will be incubated with tumor cells to evaluate the anticancer activity. The candidate will develop his/her master thesis in the Lab at the Politecnico di Torino (more infos at www.polito.it/TNHlab).
