Thesis type DESIGN AND EXPERIMENTS
Description The aim of the thesis is the experimental measurement of the efficiency of the mechanical-acoustic conversion of musical instruments, such as the violin. It is proposed to design a mechanical system able to excite the instrument with a force and power that can be measured through the instrument bow. Through an experimental campaign with anechoic chamber, it is proposed to measure the emitted acoustic power in order to evaluate the efficiency in different operating conditions. The instrument can be modified through the movement of the soundpost, that is the structural connection element between the lower and upper table of the instrument.
