Description The proposed work concerns the study of recent papers about the so called Kirchhoff Plateau problem which deals with equilibrium of a rod combined with a soap film. Moreover, further investigations about variants of such a problem could be considered. It is required a basic knowledge of measure theory and the fundamental concepts of the Calculus of Variations.
