Description The field is Quantum optics. The theoretical work entails the investigation of the statistical properties of the squeezed states of light through evaluation of their probability distributions, Mandel parameter and Wigner function. The experimental work is carried out at the Quantum optics Laboratory "Carlo Novero" of INRiM, Torino, with the assistance of Dr. Genovese.
Required skills Theoretical skills: linear algebra with special reference to Lie algebras, fundamentals of quantum mechanics. Experimental skills: they vary depending on the specific activity performed at INRiM.
