Description This thesis is linked to am european research project, whose objective is to investigate to what extent acqutic vegetation is able to damp wave motion and hence prevent (or minimize) coastal erosion. The work is of experimental nature and will be entirely carried out in the laboratory of Hydraulics which hosts a large scale flume facility equipped with state of the art measuring instruments. Visits abroad are possible.
