Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL

Description Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) are particular type of photoelectrochemical cells where a dye, excited by a light radiation, injects electrons in an electrode made of a semiconductor materials.
This thesis work aims at realizing a DSSC with high efficiency, functionalizing the semiconducting material (TiO2) with special nanoparticle systems.
Devices will be characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), electronic microscopy (SEM) and efficiency test with a sun simulator.

Required skills Basic knowledge of chemistry and electrochemistry (working principle of a battery). Data anlysis with commonly used software (Excel e/o Matlab).
