Description Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of mortality in the world, accounting for about 17.9 million deaths per year, corresponding to 32 percent of total annual deaths. Early diagnosis and treatment of CVD can dramatically reduce the chance of premature mortality and ensure an everyday life. In this scenario, one of the physiological parameters of most significant interest is blood pressure, which is used daily in clinical settings to analyze cardiovascular status. However, an analysis of blood pressure variation concerning various cardiovascular diseases has yet to be performed to evaluate its potential predictive value.
Therefore, this thesis aims to analyze blood pressure-related signals acquired in patients with different diseases to evaluate their relationship. The project involves interfacing with the medical team responsible for monitoring the subjects participating in the study.

The proposed thesis work will be structured as follows:
1) The candidate will be required to perform a state-of-the-art analysis regarding the correlation between blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. In addition, analysis of the most relevant features related to this signal found in the literature will be required.
2) Next, the candidate must implement an algorithm for signal processing and subsequent construction of a correlation model, interfacing with the medical team and hospital environment.
3) Finally, the candidate will have to validate the validity of the proposed solution by comparing it with the present literature and the opinion of the medical team.

This process will allow the candidate to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed innovative solution in the analysis of blood pressure related to cardiovascular disease.

Required skills Signal processing, programming in Matlab-Python
