Academic deficiencies and APSP update

If you are enrolled in the first year of any Bachelor’s degree programme of the Engineering area, and you haven’t passed the exam “Mathematical Analysis I” by the end of first semester, you will have to take the remedial course during second semester, instead of your Optional course.   In order to be able to update the Annual Personal Study Plan with new modules, all students, regardless of the fact that they have passed the exam “Mathematical Analysis I”, must reach the minimum threshold of 28 credits in core subjects by the end of the fall examination session (September).

All first-year courses (Mathematical Analysis I, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics I and Geometry), excluding English Language and the Optional course, are considered to be core subjects.

If you are a student with “academic deficiencies” and you reach the threshold of 28 credits obtained in core subjects by the end of winter examination session, you can attend second-semester courses of the second year, provided that precedence rules are respected. In this case, if the Annual Personal Study Plan has been correctly defined at the beginning of the academic year, there will be an automatic update: second semester courses will be automatically inserted in your APSP.

Therefore, if you have chosen part-time enrolment, you can request the conversion of your part-time Annual Personal Study Plan into full-time, by Friday 10th March 2017.

Upon request, you can add the courses “Mathematical Analysis II” and “Physics II”, bearing in mind the maximum limit of credits allowed for the Annual Personal Study Plan. This is possible only if you have passed “Mathematical Analysis I” (in order to add  “Mathematical Analysis II), or if you have passed “Physics I” and achieved at least 40 credits (in order to  “Physics II”).

In this case, after you update your Annual Personal Study Plan, you can watch the video lessons of both courses. On top of that, for “Mathematical Analysis II” only, you can attend a specific tutoring course conducted by part-time students.

You will be notified by e-mail of the methods and deadline for the integration of your Annual Personal Study Plan.

Updating the APSP in view of an Internal Transfer
If you are a student with “academic deficiencies” who reach the threshold of 28 credits obtained in core subjects by the end of the winter examination session, and you wish to transfer to another degree programme for the next academic year, you can request an update of your Annual Personal Study Plan. In particular, you will be able to insert second semester courses of the new degree programme, as long as you comply with precedence rules and the maximum number of credits allowed in the Annual Personal Study Plan. You  have the obligation to insert “Mathematical Analysis II” and “Physics II”, if you meet the above mentioned requirements.

If you intend to transfer internally to the Bachelor’s degree programme in “Industrial Production Engineering”, you can insert in your Annual Personal Study Plan third-year courses, since you will attend your second year of study at the partner University, where you can go only during the academic year following the internal transfer.

We remind that you remain officially enrolled in your current Bachelor’s degree programme for the current year. Your internal transfer request shall be submitted at the beginning of the new academic year.

Updating the APSP after an Internal Transfer
We inform you that you will be allowed to insert courses belonging to years following the first only if you have gained 28 credits in the core subjects (Mathematical Analysis I, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics I and Geometry) or at least 40 credits (excluding English language)  in your degree programme of origin.
