The Equality Committee - Comitato Unico di Garanzia (CUG)
The Equality Committee (Comitato Unico di Garanzia – CUG) supports all groups at Politecnico di Torino: teachers, administrative staff members, research fellows and students. It promotes equal opportunities of work and study for all. It implements measures to prevent and oppose all forms of discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, religion, personal and political convictions, disability and age. The committee can make proposals, offer advice and conduct assessments.

The Equality Committee has its own Regulations and it adopted a Positive Action Plan for the years 2015-2018 (http://www.swas.polito.it/services/cug/doc_cug.asp), which is approved annually.

The Equality Committee holds office for six years.  It is composed of: a president, Cristina Coscia, appointed by the Board of Governors; one delegate for each one of the most representative trade unions; one student selected from among the representatives of the Academic Senate and the Board of Governors. It has a total of 11 statutory members, 10 substitute members and 1 student representative.
The composition of the committee is available at:  http://www.polito.it/ateneo/organizzazione/organi/cug.php.

Politecnico’s Equality Committee participates in the CUG network of the metropolitan city and it has joined “HeForShe” campaign promoted by UN Women. It is also a member of the CESAER international network on gender/gender planning issues.
