If you are a student from a foreign university, enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree programme at Politecnico di Torino, you can ask for the recognition of the exams taken at the foreign university of origin. This is the procedure you must follow:

•  you can submit the recognition request upon enrolment, only if you had declared your previous university career when you filled in the application form for admission to Politecnico (Apply@polito procedure).  
  
  
• this opportunity is offered only once during the academic career, and only in the year of first enrolment.    
  

• there are two types of recognition; you can ask for one of the following:
• General recognition: the evaluation will cover all the exams included in the certificate (in order to obtain as many credits as possible); 
• Targeted recognition: you ask for the recognition of specific exams and/or a limited number of credits.   
  
  
• The exams will be recognized and validated WITHOUT ASSIGNING THEM A GRADE, until the University defines grade conversion criteria.
  
  
• Validated credits will be inserted in the Personal Study Plan of the academic year during which you have made the recognition request; therefore validated credits will not remain pending for release in subsequent years. This is meant to help (or, not to hinder) you get or maintain scholarships and other benefits.
  
  
• In any case, your career at Politecnico must necessarily include at least 60 credits including the Final Examination for Bachelor’s degree programmes and at least 50 credits excluding the thesis for Master’s degree programmes.  These credits must be earned at Politecnico, just like it happens in the case of students transferring to Politecnico from other Italian universities.  
  

The procedure must observe the international agreements establishing limitations for academic credit recognition.
Evaluations will be carried out by the Programme academic coordinators (referente cds) of each degree programme.
Evaluations related to core subjects must be also approved by the Faculty member in charge of delivering such courses.
