Procedures for assigning courses subject to merit ranking
Once the selection period is over, the number of students associated with each generic code is recorded. This number is divided up so as to balance the number of students assigned to each course of the same type, taking into account the merit ranking based on the preferences expressed by each student.
If several students, all in the same ranking position, have expressed the same choice for a course for which a lower number of places is available, the assignment will be made taking into account the number of exams with honors and, subsequently, a draw with computerized procedure.
Students on outgoing mobility will not have to express preferences regarding courses provided by the Politecnico during the period of teaching abroad.
Students on incoming mobility (double degree / erasmus + / bilateral agreement) will not have to make any choice procedure. The choice of workshops and ateliers will be made on the occasion of the meeting with academic advisors to be held before the start of the lessons of each semester. The assignment to the different courses that include a choice (workshops, ateliers, etc.) will be made by the incoming mobility office on the basis of the places available communicated by the didactic secretariat and having heard the opinion of the Academic Advisors.
Merit-based course allocations
How to rank your optional courses in order of preference

You can rank your optional courses (free choice credits) in order of preference only if you had previously included the corresponding names and the generic codes of the courses during the preparation of your APSP. The names and the generic codes are available in the curriculum of your Bachelor’s degree programme on the Teaching Portal. Log into your personal page of the Teaching Portal -Segreteria on-line / Online services tab – Create your Personal Study Plan /Annual Personal Study Plan portlet.

Upon completion of your PSP/APSP, you will be redirected to a new page. From this page you can express your preferences only for the courses that have a generic code in your APSP. You can rank your courses in order of preference using the arrows or dragging and dropping them, as illustrated in picture no.1:

Fig. 1You can repeat this operation until the deadline for the creation of your Annual Personal Study Plan.
The merit ranking list is calculated as follows:

(overall weighted average of the Bachelor’s degree * 180) + [(V1 * CFU1) + (V2 * CFU2) + (Vn + CFUn)] ________________________________________________________________________________________________________
6 + Master Course number of semesters

The number 6 refers to the minimal number of needed semesters to attain the Bachelor's Degree.
The Master Course number of semesters is calculated starting from the first enrolment. The score is calculated taking into account only those exams that were recognized and validated by Politecnico di Torino.
SPECIALIZING WORKSHOP (assigned by merit ranking)
The specializing workshops common to the Master's Degrees of the Collegi di Architecture e Design are assigned according to a criterion of merit, based on an order of preference expressed by each student and the number of places available established for each Workshop. It should be noted that the procedures for choosing the specializing workshops will be activated before the beginning of the second teaching period. The indication of the order of preference can be expressed by the students who have entered the relative generic code during the definition of the annual personal study plan within the deadline indicated in the academic calendar. In the calculation of the average, exams taken as an advance on the teachings of the Master's degrees will not be considered.
If several students, all in the same ranking position, have expressed the same choice for a course for which a lower number of places is available, the assignment will be made taking into account the number of exams with honors and, subsequently, a draw with computerized procedure. It will be possible to express your preferences only if the generic code 01RQDPQ - Specializing Workshops is present in the annual personal study plan.
When to choose the specializing Workshops: to be defined

INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOPS (3 CFU)
If you are enrolled in any Master’s degree programme of the Collegio di Architettura, or if you are a student of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Architettura and in Architettura/Architecture, and if you anticipate first-semester courses, you can get 3 free choice credits attending one of the Introductory Workshop offered by Politecnico.
The Introductory Workshops will take place from 30th September to 5th October 2019.

Students who have already attended a Master's Degree introductory Workshop and intend to attend a second one in the current academic year, after having defined the Personal Study Plan - Annual Personal Study Plan must apply to the Didactic Secretariat of Architecture by 23rd September 2019 through the ticket service available in your personal page of the Teaching Portal.
