Free choice credits
The curriculum of each degree programme gives students the opportunity to choose some optional courses (or free choice credits).  In accordance with the University Teaching Regulations, each student is free to choose his/her optional courses from among all courses offred by Politecnico, incluing internships (as long as they are not already included in their Personal Study Plan).
Free choice credits allow students to broaden their education experience to fields of study that are not striclty related with their academic path. Students are required to provide motivations which support the coherence of thier choice with thier educational path.
During your first year you can choose one optional course from the catalogue of Free choice credits – First year, provided that you pass the Analisis 1 exam during the Winter exam session
If you do not meet the requirements to choose an optional course in first year (and for all students in general), you have following options:
  • two optional courses (6 CFU each) from the catalogue of Free Choice Credits – 3rd year/Substitute for 1st year free choice credits 
  • internship
  • a combination of various learning activities, done at Politecnico or outside the university.
  • a combination of optional courses, training activities, internship
