Master's degree programme in
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING (change programme)
Location: Torino
Class: BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
Procedure and deadlines
You need to create your Personal Study Plan (PSP) and Annual personal Study Plan (APSP) at the beginning of each new academic year.
The online procedure is available on your personal page of the Teaching Portal - Online Services tab, portlet Create your Personal Study Plan/Annual Personal Study Plan and Enrol in the new academic year. You must follow the steps and comply with the academic rules for incomplete courses, overbooking courses and pre-requisites. The procedure is guided. You can repeat it as many times as you wish until you get your final APSP.
1) PERSONAL STUDY PLAN
In this step you can:
  • Choose a specialist pathway for your curriculum (if any)
You can choose or modify your specialist pathway during the timeframe for the creation of your PSP/APSP.
  • Create your Personal Study Plan (PSP)
Green courses: already passed
Black courses: unpassed or not recorded in your transcript
Grey box: optional courses
Your Personal Study Plan must include all the courses that you are going to take before graduation: 180 credits for Bachelor’s degree programs / 120 credits for Master’s degree programs (this rule does not apply to special courses and projects).
You also need to include the courses belonging to the next academic years and the optional courses (free choice credits), following the rules illustrated in the Student Guide.
The PSP overall number of credits includes the Final Project, the foreign language exam, and the internship (if any).
It does not include:
  • the credits of the Italian language exam (for students with a non-Italian qualification who attend a degree program partially or entirely taught in English):
  • extra credits that you may earn for extending the duration of your internship.
We remind you that you will be able to modify your Personal Study Plan again  when you enrol in the next academic year.
We remind you that students who first enrolled at PoliTO in a.y. 2012/13 or before MUST NOT create their PERSONAL STUDY PLAN but only their ANNUAL PERSONAL STUDY PLAN.
Personalize your Personal Study Plan
The standard Personal Study Plan shows the courses suggested for the specialist pathway you have chosen, but you can personalize it and include exams belonging to different pathways an/or degrees.
  • If you want to add a course:
Search it by course code or course title in the search box below the Personal Study Plan:
  • If you want to delete a course:
Only if you have not passed the exam yet, click the blue X:
If you want to delete a course from a table (grey background), you need to deselect it. To delete an entire table, you first need to deselect each course in the table. If the changes you have made to your Personal Study Plan require the approval of the Academic Advisor of the programme the system will show a page where you can submit your request and explain your reasons.
Click CONFIRM to save your changes and complete your Annual Personal Study Plan
If the changes you have made to your Personal Study Plan require the approval of the Academic Advisor of the programme the system will show a page where you can submit your request and explain your reasons:
After submitting your request, your Personal Study Plan will be sent for approval (status: under approval). During this period you will not be allowed to make any further changes until you get the result from the Academic Advisor.
Please note: the period during which your Personal Study Plan is under approval does not count towards the 10 days for the completion of the Personal Study Plan. After receiving the answer from the Academic Advisor, you have 10 more days to make other changes. You will receive a mail when the Academic Advisor has evaluated your request.
Extra credits
You can add up to a maximum of 12 extra credits to your Personal Study Plan, thus exceeding the 120-credit threshold. As a general rule, extra credits cannot be removed from your PSP when you register for the Final Examination and they count towards the calculation of your final average grade.
2) ANNUAL PERSONAL STUDY PLANYour Annual Personal Study Plan includes the courses that you are going to attend during the current academic year.
You need to drag the courses you wish to attend from the box “Personal Study Plan courses that can be included in your Annual Personal Study Plan” to the box “Annual Personal Study Plan”. Bear in mind that there is a limit in the number of credits that you can include in your Annual Personal Study Plan.
We remind you that you must include both your first and second semester courses as you will not be allowed to modify your Annual Personal Study Plan during the year.
Blue courses: already included in last year’s APSP
Black courses: added to APSP for the first time
Red courses: overbooking courses
  • FULL TIME: if you choose a full-time workload, your Annual Personal Study Plan must contain a maximum of 80 credits (excluding overbooking courses)
  • PART TIME: if you choose a part-time workload, your Annual Personal Study Plan must contain a maximum of 40 credits. You cannot exceed this ceiling and you cannot include any overbooking courses.
Please note that at the beginning of each academic year, when you enrol in your degree programme,  you can change your workload (part-time or full-time) depending on your needs.
