COMPULSORY COURSES - ALLOCATIONS
The following information is valid exclusively for the students who first enrolled at Politecnico in a.y. 2021/22 and in a.y. 2022/23. 
Compulsory Courses - Allocations for students enrolled in a Master's degree programme 
As a student of the Master’s degree programme in Architecture Construction City you can choose to attend this programme entirely taught in English or with classes both in English and Italian.
English-taught learning path
If you want to attend this path, you must specify it when you define your Personal Study Plan/ Annual Personal Study Plan by 25th September 2022. Your Personal Study Plan will contain the generic codes of the various types of courses. By the same deadline you must also define your Annual Personal Study Plan and enter the generic codes of the various courses that you want to take.  Course allocations will take place according to a merit criterion based on the order of preference that each student expressed during the creation of the Annual Personal Study Plan.  
Learning path offered both in English and Italian
If you want to attend this path, you must specify it when you define your Personal Study Plan/ Annual Personal Study Plan by 25thSeptember 2022. Your Personal Study Plan will contain the generic codes of the various types of courses. By the same deadline you must also define your Annual Personal Study Plan and enter the generic codes of the various courses that you want to take. 
Course allocations will take place according to a merit criterion based on the order of preference that each student expressed during the creation of the Annual Personal Study Plan. For this reason, you could be assigned to courses in Italian and in English, only courses in Italian or only courses in English, on the basis of the order of preference that you have indicated and of the merit criterion.
Calculation of the merit score
The merit ranking will be calculated as follows:

Calculation of merit score:
(overall weighted average of the three-year degree * 180) + [(V1 * CFU1) + (V2 * CFU2) + (Vn * CFUn)] ________________________________________________________________________________________
6 + number of semesters of enrollment in the Master's degree programme.
The number 6 refers to the minimum number of semesters necessary for the achievement of the Bachelor's degree programme.
The calculation of the number of semesters starts from the first enrolment in the Master's degree programme; for the calculation of the score, only the exams validated by the Politecnico di Torino are considered.
When to rank courses in order of preference

Students need to rank their courses in order of preference in accordance with the deadlines of the following table.

In any case students must have included the generic codes of these courses in their Annual Personal Study Plan and they must have ranked the courses in order of preference by 25 September 2022.
Students taking part in an outgoing mobility project must not express any preferences regarding Polito courses that are offered while they are abroad.

Students taking part in an incoming mobility project (double degree / Erasmus + / bilateral agreement) must contact the Incoming Mobility Office for advice on this issue.

1st year - 1st semester
- Atelier 1
Atelier 1 is assigned to students according to a merit criterion based on the order of preference expressed by each student while creating the Personal Study Plan/ Annual Personal Study Plan. Therefore, you need to rank in order of preference the Ateliers offered by your Master's degree programme in the course catalogue.
- Optional Course from Table 1
The optional course from table 1 is assigned on the basis of the Scientific Disciplinary Sectors of the Atelier 1 assigned to each student. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student while creating the Personal Study Plan/ Annual Personal Study Plan, in accordance with the following rules.

Students assigned to an Atelier 1 with Scientific Disciplinary Sectors ICAR/14  + ICAR/12 will be assigned exclusively to one of the following Optional Courses from Table 1:
- Progetto di strutture
or else,
- Structural design
Both courses belong to Scientific Disciplnary Sector ICAR/09. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student.
Students assigned to an Atelier 1 with Scientific Disciplinary Sectors ICAR/14  + ICAR/09  will be assigned exclusively to one of the following Optional Courses from Table 1:
- Low impact technology
or else,
- Progetto di architettura off-site
Both courses belong to Scientific Disciplnary Sector ICAR/12. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student.

Introductory seminars from Table A and Table B
The following rules are valid exclusively for the students who first enrolled at Politecnico in a.y. 2021/22 and in a.y. 2022/23.
 
Introductory Seminars from Table A and Table B are assigned to students according to a merit criterion based on the order of preference that each student expressed during the creation of the Annual Personal Study Plan.

1st year - 2nd semester
- Atelier 2
Atelier 2 is assigned to students according to a merit criterion based on the order of preference expressed by each student after the deadline for the creation of the Personal Study Plan / Annual Personal Study Plan. Therefore, you need to rank in order of preference the Ateliers offered by your Master's degree programme in the course catalogue. The time frame for ranking the Ateliers in order of preference will be announced at a later date.

- Optional Course from Table 2
The optional course from table 2 is assigned on the basis of the Scientific Disciplinary Sectors of the Atelier 2 assigned to each student. The time frame for ranking the courses in order of preference will be announced at a later date. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student, in accordance with the following rules.

Students assigned to an Atelier 2 with Scientific Disciplinary Sectors ICAR/14  + ICAR/22 will be assigned exclusively to one of the following Optional Courses from Table 2:
- Urbanism
or else,
- Urbanistica
Both courses belong to Scientific Disciplnary Sector ICAR/21. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student.
Students assigned to an Atelier 2 with Scientific Disciplinary Sectors ICAR/14  + ICAR/21 will be assigned exclusively to one of the following Optional Courses from Table 1:
- Economic evaluation of project
or else,
- Valutazione economica dei progetti
Both courses belong to Scientific Disciplnary Sector ICAR/22. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student.
2nd year - 1st semester
- Atelier 3
Atelier 3 is assigned to students according to a merit criterion based on the order of preference expressed by each student while creating the Personal Study Plan/ Annual Personal Study Plan. Therefore, you need to rank in order of preference the Ateliers offered by your Master's degree programme in the course catalogue.
 
- Optional Course from Table 5
The optional course from table 5 is assigned on the basis of the Scientific Disciplinary Sectors of the Atelier 3 assigned to each student.Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student during the creation of the Personal Study Plan / Annual Personal Study Plan, in accordance with the following rules.
Students assigned to an Atelier 3 with Scientific Disciplinary Sectors ICAR/14  + ICAR/17 will be assigned esclusively to one of the following Optional Courses from Table 5:
- Restauro
or else,
- Restoration
Both courses belong to Scientific Disciplnary Sectors ICAR/19. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student.
Students assigned to an Atelier 3 with Scientific Disciplinary Sectors ICAR/14  + ICAR/19 will be assigned esclusively to one of the following Optional Courses from Table 5:
- Modellazione digitale parametrica
or else,
-Building information modeling
Both courses belong to Scientific Disciplnary Sectors ICAR/17. Allocations are merit-based and take into account the order of preference expressed by each student.
Optional course for complementary or related subjects (discipline affini o integrative)
You need to select the course you are interested in when you define your Personal Study Plan / Annual Personal Study Plan.
Students who advance some Master's courses
Students enrolled in the Bachelor's degree programme who advance some courses of their future Master's degree programme will be able to rank in order of preference only the first-semester coursesof their Master's first year when they create their Personal Study Plan / Annual Personal Study Plan. Allocations are based on a merit ranking list.
When to rank courses in order of preference
by18h of September 2022  (merit-based allocations).
If for any reason you do not express your course preferences during the specified time frame, you will have the possibility to specify your order of prefrence among the courses that have residual places in a second phase (time frame to be defined).The second phase will be activated only if there are at least two courses/atelier with available places. Otherwise, course allocations will be automatic.
If you have advanced some Master’s courses, you can express the order of preference for your second-semester courses during a time frame to be defined if you have attained your Bachelor's degree and after you enrol  in your Master’s degree programme according to the table below.
You are allowed to express your preferences exclusively among the courses with residual places.

Calculation of the merit score
The merit ranking list is calculated as follows:
Students enrolled in a Bachelor's degree programme who advance Master's courses

(GR1 * CFU1) + (GR2 * CFU2) + (GRn * CFUn) + (overall average grade * CFU pass-or-fail exams)

Merit-based allocations
After creating your Personal Study Plan / Annual Personal Study Plan you will be redirected to a new page displaying the possible choices (exclusively for the generic codes already included in your APSP). You can rank the courses in order of preference using the arrows or dragging and dropping them in the desired position, as illustrated in picture 1.

You can repeat this operation as many times as you wish until the closing date of the time frame for expressing the order of preference.
