COMPULSORY COURSES - ALLOCATIONS
3rd year Elective Laboratories - 2nd semester
Elective Laboratories are assigned based on merit taking into account the order of preference expressed by each student.
You will be able to rank the Elective Laboratories in order of preference provided that you have included the generic code of these laboratories in your Annual Personal Study Plan. You are required to express your perferences when you define your PSP/APSP. The dealine to create your PSP/APS and to express your preferences is 17th September 2023.
If you do not respect this deadline, you will have the possibility to indicate the order of preference, among the courses that still have some places available, in a second phase - period to be defined.
The second phase will be activated only if there are at least two courses/atelier with available places. Otherwise, course allocations will be automatic.
How to rank Elective Laboratories in order of preference
Log in to your personal page of the Teaching Portal - Online Services TAB - Create Personal Study Plan/Annual personal Study Plan PORTLET. After completing your APSP, you will be redirected to a new page where you can rank the Laboratories in order of preference using the arrows or dragging and dropping them in the desired position, as illustrated in picture 1.
You can repeat this operation as many times as you wish until the closing date for expressing the order of preference.
After the deadline for creating the PSP/APSP and expressing the preferences, Politecnico counts how many students have chosen each generic code and added it to the PSP/APSP. This number is equally distributed so that places in each Laboratory are offered  to students taking into account their preferences and their position on the ranking list.
If several students with the same position on the ranking list have chosen the same course but the number of available places is insufficient to satisfy all demands, places in the course will be offered taking into account the number of exams passed with honors by each student, and (subsequently) by random computerized drawing.
The merit ranking list is calculated as follows:

(GR1 * CFU1) + (GR2 * CFU2) + (GRn * CFUn) + (overall weighted average grade* CFU of ungraded exams)
________________________________________________________________________________
number of semesters from student’s first enrolment in the university system
Please note: in case of transfer from another univeristy or internal transfer, the semesters of enrolment at the university of origin will also be counted.
The calculation of merit takes into account the exams passed by each student by the end of September 2023.
Students taking part in an outgoing mobility project in second semester  must not  express any preferences regarding the Laboratories.
Allocations of elective Laboratories offered in second semester and assigned based on a merit criterion cannot be modified.
