Creating your psp/ apsp
You need to create your Personal Study Plan (PSP) and Annual personal Study Plan (APSP) at the beginning of each new academic year. The online procedure is available on your personal page of the Teaching Portal - "Career section", portlet  Personal Study Plan The procedure is guided. You can repeat it as many times as you wish until the dedaline.  The procedure ends with enrolment.

STUDY PLAN
The Personal Study Plan (PSP) - PIANO CARRIERA - includes all the courses and learning activities that you need to complete during the course of your studies, from your first year until graduation;
The Personal Study Plan (PSP) must include
  • 120 CFU for Master's degree programmes;
The PSP overall number of credits includes the Thesis and the internship (if any).
(Special curricula are excluded from this rule.).
When you create your Personal Study Plan you can:
  • choose a specialist pathway for your curriculum. You can choose or modify your specialist pathway during the timeframe for the creation of your PSP/APSP;
  • Therefore, you need to include also the courses belonging to the next academic years and the optional courses (free choice credits), following the rules illustrated in the chapter Free Choice Credits.
  • It does not include the credits of the Italian language exam (for students with a non-Italian qualification who attend a degree programme partially or entirely taught in English).

Personalize your PSP
The standard Personal Study Plan shows the courses suggested for the specialist pathway you have chosen, but you can personalize it by clicking on the corresponding button.
By accessing the personalized plan, you can:
    • add some exams belonging to different pathways and/or to other degree programmes, search it by course code or course title:

    • If you want to delete a course (only if you have not passed the exam yet):

    • If you want to delete a course from a table, you need to deselect it.
    • To delete an entire table, you first need to deselect each course in the table, and then clicking on the delete button:
If the changes you have made to your Personal Study Plan require the approval of the Academic Advisor of the programme, the system will show a page where you can submit your request and explain your motivations:
It is recommended to include the following in the notes field:
  • code and name of the course you intend to add.
  • code and name of the course you intend to delete.
After submitting your request, your Personal Study Plan will be sent for approval (status: under approval). During this period you will not be allowed to make any further changes until you get the result from the Academic Advisor. You will receive an e-mail when the Academic Advisor has evaluated your request.
Please note: the period during which your Personal Study Plan is under approval does not count towards the 10 days for the completion of the Personal Study Plan. After receiving the answer from the Academic Advisor, you will have 10 more days to make other changes.
If you want to delete a course from a table (grey background), you need to deselect it. To delete an entire table, you first need to deselect each course in the table.
To delete an entire table, you first need to deselect each course in the table.
Extra credits
You can add up to a maximum of 12 extra credits to your Personal Study Plan, exceeding the 120-credit limit for Master's degree programmes. As a general rule, extra credits cannot be removed from your PSP when you register for the Final Examination and they count towards the calculation of your final average grade.

Credits that you may earn for participating in special events/activities (Conversazioni in biblioteca, Festival della tecnologia, Costruire il futuro, Tempi Difficili) are recognized as extra credits. They are recognized on a pass-or-fail basis (without a grade) and do not have an impact on your final grade. They are marked in red in the curriculum of your degree programme available on your personal page of the Teaching Portal - View personal data and update address section.
These credits are automatically added to your PSP by the Student Careers Unit when the activity/event is over.
To learn more about the recognition of these credits please read the regulations of each event/activity.

Courses that are going to be discontinued
The course catalogue of a degree programme may change from one academic year to the other. Some courses may no longer be offered because they are replaced by new courses. When a course is about to be discontinued, it means that it will no longer be available starting from the next academic year. As a general rule, lectures will not be offered in the next academic year but you will still be allowed to take the exam until the last examination session (September).
  • Teaching materials and classes timetable
For these courses, you will not find new materials or the new timetable of classes on your personal page of the Teaching Portal (Materials section). You will only find materials from the previous academic year.
  • How to proceed when filling out your career plan
The courses included in your old APSP that are going to be discontinued are highlighted in the procedure for the creation of the PSP/APSP.  The note shows the last examination session in which you can take the exam, the name and code of the new course that will replace it when the examination session is over.
If the note does not show a replacement course:
    • if it is an optional course (free choice credits): you can choose another optional course (in the event that the optional course is assigned on the basis of a merit ranking list, you must include the generic code of the course in order to visualize the possible choices);
    • if it is a compulsory course: you need to contact the Academic Advisor of your degree programme who will tell you the name of the new course.
If -  after these changes to your PSP  - you cannot reach the minimum number of credits required to complete your APSP, you need to report the problem to the Student Careers Unit using the Ticketing Support System.
The Student Careers Unit will automatically replace discontinued courses with new courses at the end of the September examination session. If the new course is offered in second semester, you will be able to take the exam in the Winter examination session as well (since the new course will be considered as already attended).

If you are not interested in taking the exam of a course that is going to be discontinued and you want to attend the new course directly, you can replace the discontinued course with the new course by yourself during the time frame for the creation of your PSP/APSP.
ANNUAL PERSONAL STUDY PLAN (APSP)
Your ANNUAL PERSONAL STUDY PLAN (APSP) CARICO DIDATTICO - is the list of the courses that you are going to attend during the current academic year.
You can create a full-time or a part-time APSP depending if you want to enrol with a part-time or with a full-time workload.
 Full-timeif a maximum teaching load of 80 credits is defined, including credits for the final exam/thesis
 Part-timeif a maximum course load of 40 credits is defined, including credits for the final exam/thesis
Procedure
The courses to be included in the teaching load must be chosen from among those included in the previously completed career plan.
To add new modules to the teaching load, it is necessary to add the modules available in the “Selectable courses” box, taking into account the maximum number of credits that can be added, which varies depending on the type of workload selected.
Blue courses: courses already included in your past APSP
Black courses: courses that you are including in your APSP for the first time
Red courses: overbooking
You must choose the courses that you will include in your Annual Personal Study Plan from the list of courses available in your Personal Study Plan. When you create your APSP, you must consider that some courses may have pre-requisites (courses which have to be taken before others).
This happens especially for compulsory courses. If you still have some pending exams, you are not allowed to create an Annual Personal Study Plan without including any credit.
Filling out rules - Full-time workload
If you choose a full-time workload, you can include a maxiumu of 80 credits (CFU) in your APSP.Your Final Project/Thesis credits must be added to the APSP of the year in which you intend to start working on your Final Project/Thesis.
This means that these credits must not exceed the maxiumum limit of 80 credits.When you enrol for the next academic year, your Final Project/Thesis credits will be automatically included in your new APSP but will not count towards the maximum limit.
You can add 5 extra credits beyond the maximum limit if you want to add an additional course (including an internship).
This is possible if you still have space in your APSP.You are allowed to exceed the 85-credit limit in order to add the Final Project/Thesis credits.

Example n° 3
Filling out rules - Part-time workload
Part-time enrolment is suggested to:
    • students who need to balance study with employment, health issues, family commitments (parenting children under 5, providing care ad assistance to family members, pregnancy, high-risk pregnancy);
    • students who have less than 40 unearned credits to graduation including the credits of the Final Project/Thesis.
If you choose a part-time workload, you can include a maximum of 40 credits (CFU) in your APSP.When you create your part-time APSP, you must include your incomplete courses from your previous APSP before adding new courses.
Your Final Project/Thesis credits must be added to the APSP of the year in which you intend to start working on your Final Project/Thesis. This means that these credits must not exceed the maximum limit of 40 credits per year. When you enrol in the next academic years, your Final Project/Thesis will be automatically added to your APSP, but the credits will not be counted towards the maximum number of credits per year.
