PERIOD: APRIL - SEPTEMBER Systems for the wireless charge are encountering a wide interest in the sector of public and private transports. Despite the research in this field is quite young, in the last year there has been the development of a specific standardization e several commercial products are already available. This technology seems to be able to provide a strong boosting to the development of the electric mobility in urban areas. Other possible applications can derive from the application of this technology toward the recharge during the motion of the vehicle. This will allow to eliminate the two major barriers to the diffusion of the electric vehicles: the limited range and the necessity of frequent and long stops for the recharge. The aim of the course is to provide a general overview of the basic principles of this technology, the state of the art e the regulation framework. Starting from the prototypal systems developed by the Spanish research center CIRCE and the Politecnico di Torino, the course will treat the main issues related to the design, the optimization and the control of such kind of systems. The course will mainly address toward the aspects concerning the electromagnetic modelling and design and the power electronics. A general overview on the overall systems will be provided looking also to the issue concerning the road infrastructure, the vehicle communication, the aspects related to the protection of people against electromagnetic field exposure.

Exam:
In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.
