2019/20
CLIK - Contamination Lab & Innovation Kitchen is an experimental educational laboratory conceived as a major part of PoliTo’s strategy to foster innovative education and entrepreneurial culture. It is a place in which students can experiment and put into practice what they have learnt during their lectures, in an informal and multidisciplinary environment that promotes a spirit of creativity, collaboration. An external firm provides a “challenge” coming from its real business and, during the experience, 30 students divided in teams work, compete and develop their solution. Challenge@PoliTo – Seat as a Suit The automotive sector is undergoing a new industrial revolution. Just think of the electric car, assisted and / or autonomous driving and new business models such as car sharing. Within such contexts, the customer's needs change radically, and with them also the requirements and characteristics of the seats. Sabelt, an international company that produces components for the automotive, aerospace and aviation sectors, wants to anticipate, support and guide changes, proposing innovative solutions. Sabelt's challenge requires imagining the seat of the future, integrating the functionality of the classic seats with future needs, in order to maximize the comfort and protection of the end user for a pleasant, safe and, as far as possible, travel experience customizable Some of the features of the seat required in this Challenge: ● individual passenger anthropometry customization, to adapt to the different physical characteristics of the drivers; ● thermal comfort in terms of heating and / or cooling, according to different needs. The challenge is open to further suggestions and interpretations that have a high innovative impact and in line with the needs of efficiency, comfort, safety, connectivity and design / fashion.
