Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL
Description The European Commission is increasingly pushing the use of waste products and biomass as components for new technologies, in order to ensure a circular economy and minimize the extraction of non-renewable raw materials. Among the emerging scenarios, there is the possible use of biomass as components of lithium and post-lithium batteries.
In this thesis, the candidate will work in the laboratories of the DISAT department. It will deal with the analysis and study of biomasses, their preparation to be used as components for batteries, assembly of prototypes and their testing in operational conditions: the advantage of this type of thesis is that the candidate has the opportunity to see a entire process of preparing devices on a laboratory scale, starting from the preparation of the individual components and assembling the batteries at the end of the work.
A two-week laboratory training is planned with the aim of zeroing in and putting everyone in a position to be able to work independently on their thesis project.
