Thesis type SPERIMENTAL
Description The student will be involved in the tests of Solid Oxide Cells (SOC) stacks operating in both fuel cells and electrolyser modes. The main focus will be the test of different components (i.e. interconnects, cells, protective coatings) produced by industrial partners with the final goal to select the best variants in order to build a 1kW stack.
The student will be trained on the stack building-up procedure (i.e. glass sealant deposition by robocasting), test procedure (i.e. I-V curves, degradation tests, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy), performance evaluation and post-mortem analyses.
Required skills Advanced materials for energy
