Description Nowadays, aerospace companies are looking for the best hardware and software solutions that satisfy the requirement for performance and efficiency, and on the other hand, solutions require to be verifiable, economical, and safe. In this context, the implementation of Soft processors on reconfigurable logic has emerged as a good candidate. However, considering space applications, the reliability issues deriving from the exposure of the devices to ionizing radiation environments should be taken into account.
The key idea of this thesis is the implementation of a soft-core processor on the reconfigurable FPGAs and the evaluation of the reliability and radiation sensitivity of the implemented processor. This activity is in collaboration with IES company and it offers economical support during the thesis period.
Required skills Basic knowledge of VHDL or Verilog Hardware Language
