Thesis type DESIGN AND EXPERIMENTS
Description Next generation implants will be miniaturised and wirelessly powered. The standard architecture to inductively power a biomedical implant is based on an external transmitter coil and an implanted receiver coil resonating at the same operating frequency.
WIMOS-RESS (WIreless MOdular Switching RESonator System) is an innovative inductive architecture which simultaneously increases the power delivered to the load and the number of implants which can be powered at the same time.
Designing and optimizing the inductive link: electromagnetic simulations of the wireless power transmission system including the switching resonator.
Designing and making of prototypes: active circuit design and fabrication at PCB-level and fabrication of the coils.
System integration between PCB and coils.
Testing and validation and of the complete wireless system in electronic laboratory.
