Description In this project, the student will analyze real patient data obtained in the Sirio-Libanes Hospital when HCC patients were exposed to a diagnostic and therapeutic device that generates radio-frequency waves of low intensity and low-frequency amplitude modulation. EKG data sets for various amplitude modulation frequencies will be analyzed for heart rate variability and simulated using the modified van der Pol equation. Similarly, blood pressure time series for the same exposures will be analyzed and simulated using the Windkessel equation. Finally, a correlation analysis between the two datasets will be performed in order to establish the physiological effects of the electromagnetic waves on the human body via hemodynamics.
Required skills an ability to use excel spreadsheet and program in matlab will be required
