Description Motivations:
Emergent has extensive experience in development and support of distributed real-time closed-loop hardware-in-the-loop multi-spacecraft simulations. It is required to provide ongoing end-to-end engineering support for systems that enable simulations of spacecraft onboard systems and vehicle orbit and attitude dynamics to help facilitate mission formulation, design, analysis, and hardware trade studies.
Goals:
In particular the main goal of this thesis concerns to import sensors, actuators, environment (e.g.,atmosphere, radiation pressure, etc.), satellite (with rigid body or with flexible appendages) models, developed with SimuLink, into dSpace system. These models are available and they have to be adapted to dSpace environment, developing the required avionic bus interfaces (i.e., STD-MIL-1553B, CAN, RSxxx, etc.). In addiction, these models have to be exported in C language with automatic code generator tools.
The final task requires a real-time closed-loop simulation (HIL) of the navigation and control systems for space exploration missions.
Required skills Programming Languages: C/C++, Matlab SimuLink
Notes The thesis will be developed at Thales AleniaSpace Spa (Turin).
After thesis work, Thales AleniaSpace Spa offers an internship opportunity as full-time position for six months.
