If you do not meet some curricular requirements when you apply for admission to a Master’s degree programme, you must make up for these unfulfilled requirements (credits) before enrolling in a Master’s degree programme. You must enrol in single courses in order to earn the credits required for admission to the Master’s degree programme you have chosen.
You can enrol in single courses for a maximum of 60 credits.
Procedure:
Make sure you do not select "Enrol in your SINGLE COURSES" in the Select your programme section of the Apply@polito platform but follow these steps:- Submit your application for admission to the Master’s degree programme you have chosen and wait for the evaluation of your application;
- Go to the Evaluations section of your personal page of the Apply@polito platform: if you are denied admission (evaluation “rejected”), click “Enrol in single courses”.
- You will see the list of courses recommended by the Teaching Committee and the fee you need to pay to enrol in these courses. Submit your request by clicking the SAVE and SUBMIT button and pay your fees from the Evaluations section. After paying, you will receive your student ID number and the access credentials to log in to your personal page of the Teaching Portal. The deadline for enrolling in single courses is 31st March 2022.
IMPORTANT NOTICE for applicants from other Italian universities
In addition to the procedure illustrated above, you must complete the second phase of the enrolment process (student identification and personal information check) by 15/04/2022. Failure to meet this deadline entails your permanent exclusion from the enrolment process. Please note that you will have limited access to the services of your personal page of the Teaching Portal until you complete the enrolment process (e.g. you cannot request enrolment certificates and cannot register for any exam, etc.).
Instructions for identification and verification of personal data (enrolment to be completed)
For your identification and verification of your personal data, you need to book an in-person appointment with the staff of the Office of the University Registrar’s (the date can be selected from a calendar available in the online procedure). On the same day, you will also receive your Smart Card.
If the University decides to deliver all classes online as a consequence of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, you will be invited to a remote appointment for the verification of your identity and personal information. In this case, you will be required to book an online appointment from your personal page of the Teaching Portal.
If you are going to get your Bachelor’s degree by September 2021, we strongly recommend that you enrol in single courses before the month of September so you will have access to all services starting from the beginning of classes.
If you enrol in single courses, you will be able to take the exams of your second-semester courses during the winter examination session, so you will not have to wait until the end of the second semester to take these exams.
Please note that the courses assigned by the Teaching Committee to make up for unfulfilled curricular requirements cannot be recognized after you enrol in your Master’s degree programme, even if they are part of the programme curriculum.
You will be able to enrol in your Master’s degree programme after you pass all the exams of your single courses. If you make up for your unfulfilled curricular requirements during the winter examination session, you will be allowed to enrol in the Master’s degree programme you have chosen starting from the second semester. The enrolment deadline is 31st March 2022. When all grades of your single courses are recorded in your transcript, you need to contact the Office of Student Services using the Ticketing system. The Office of Student Services will close your position as a "student enrolled in single courses" and you will be able to complete your enrolment in your Master’s degree programme.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have been denied admission to a Master’s degree programme due to your unfulfilled academic requirements but you have not enrolled in single courses by 31st March 2022, you are NOT allowed to enrol in single courses “for open competitive exams, professional updating and requalification” selecting the courses of the Master’s degree programme you have applied for.
Enrolment in single courses is valid for one academic year only. This means that if you enrol in a single course during a certain academic year but you do not pass the exam within the last examination session of that academic year (September), you will have to re-enrol in the course and pay the corresponding fee again in order to take the exam in the next academic year.
