English language support
The CLA offers various English language support activities depending on your level of English.
If your university is part of the Unite! university alliance, you can join some English activities listed at the bottom of this page.
Know your level
Regarding your preparation for the IELTS test, we suggest you verify your English language level first: connect to the CLA VIRTUAL LAIB from your personal computer and check your level using the procedure. Download our quick guide for the instructions.
You will find your score on your personal page of the Teaching Portal - "Languages/Lingue" TAB in the following days.
Based on your score you can also have access to the Advanced courses (ASSI & AWSI), which require an appropriate level of English language preparation (minimum score required: 65).
Regarding the selection process for an outgoing mobility project (ERASMUS+ and Extra-UE/NON-ERASMUS+), you can request a letter for your host university in which Politecnico certifies your foreign language level (CEFR). For information  visit this page: Courses for outgoing mobility students.

Language Advisory Service You can speak to an English language expert to:
  • discuss any doubts you have about how to prepare for the IELTS test (how to study for IELTS after you have verified your level of English, which are the best books to use etc.)
  • proofread your English CV and/or cover letter etc. (no translations)
The Language Advisory Service CANNOT be booked in advance and only 4-6 students per day can be admitted. Please note: the experts cannot give information about administrative matters. For this kind of question you can open a ticket.
