PEGASUS European Aerospace Network

UNDER MAINTENANCE PAGE

Politecnico di Torino is one of the founder members of the PEGASUS network (Partnership of a European Group of Aeronautics and Space UniversitieS) currently made up of 25 European Universities (plus 4 extra-EU associated members). Their goal is to promote high quality study careers in the field of MS Aerospace Engineering. Not only does PEGASUS network aim at encouraging Erasmus mobility among its members, but also at facilitating the recruitment of students’ curricula by European Aerospace Industry. It also provides international internship opportunities and certifies the high quality of the courses.
 For this purpose, Politecnico di Torino students who succeed in their MS Aerospace Engineering career receive, together with their degree, one of the following certifications signed both by the rector of Politecnico di Torino and the president of PEGASUS:
 1.     PEGASUS Certificate, given to all graduated students in Aerospace at Politecnico di Torino. Thanks to it, all PEGASUS universities certify the equal quality of their courses;
 2.     PEGASUS A.W.A.R.D. (Achievement through Working Abroad for academic Research or industrial Development projects), given in addition to the PEGASUS Certificate only to students who have spent at least 5 months of their academic career abroad (in the Erasmus or other exchange project context). With this, PEGASUS universities recognize the multi-national study experience. The names of the students who receive the AWARD are registered in the PEGASUS permanent database and are at European Aerospace industry disposal.
 Identical certificates are given to students by the other PEGASUS universities. They have not a legal value but allow an Aerospace Engineer from Politecnico di Torino to propose his candidature to a company in Germany, France etc… These certificates show that every university, part of PEGASUS, recognizes the same study quality level or, in case of the AWARD, that the engineer has an exchange background among different countries, languages and cultures.
 Starting from 2005, the PEGASUS network has organized a student conference every year in Europe, in collaboration with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). This conference is aimed at awarding the best Aerospace Engineering MS thesis developed in one of the partner universities. The winner will be offered with the opportunity to take part in the USA final, in order to compete under the same conditions with the winners of the same US contests.
