Unfulfilled academic requirements and APSP update
You will not be able to update your APSP with second-year courses unless you earn the credits of your core subjects by the end of the Autumn examination session (September) of your first year, in accordance with the rules of your "coorte" (the academic year of your first enrolment).
Students who first-enrolled at PoliTo by a.y. 2018/19 (coorte 2018/19 and previous)
First-year courses considered as core subjects are:

According to the Rectoral Decree n. 358 of April 24, 2020: due to Covid19 emergency, the minimum number of credits in core subjects required for the fulfilment of the threshold and the updating of the APSP with 2nd-year courses has been lowered from 28 to 18 credits.*
*UPDATE OF 24/03/2021
Following the resolution of the Academic Senate session of 23/03/2021, it has been decided to include in the APSP of students who did not pass the core subjects by the winter exam session, the specific course of the first year provided in the course catalogue of the 2020/21 cohort.
The Office of Student Services will carry out all the necessary operations to include the course into the APSP of a.y. 20/21. Students interested will receive a communication about the updating.

The number of credits in core subjects required for the fulfilment of the threshold and the updating of the APSP remains unchanged: 18 credits in first-year core subjects.

20/21. Consequently, for these students, the minimum number of credits in core subjects necessary to insert courses of the second year is dropped to 26 credits (the specific course of the degree programme is included).
When you create your new APSP in September, you must inlcude all your second-year courses (pay attention to the order in which you rank them). Your second-year courses will be considered as “overbooking courses” (marked in red) until you earn the required number of credits in your core subjects.
If you manage to pass your core subjects by the end of the Winter examination session, your Annual Personal Study Plan will be automatically updated in accordance with the following rules:
  • Mathematical Analysis 2 will be included in your APSP when you pass Mathematical Analysis 1. Students enrolled in the academic year 2019/2020 and previous years will be able to watch the Mathematical Analysis 2 video lessons and attend a specific tutoring course prepared by fellow students.
  • Physics 2 will be included in your APSP when you pass Physic 1 and reach 40 credits globally - this rule only applies to the Bachelor's degree programme with video lectures;
  • courses with video lectures offered in the first semester of your second year and included in the curriculum of your Bachelor's degree programme will be added to your APSP in accordance with the rules for courses taught through video lectures*;
  • courses offered in the second semester of your second year will be added to your APSP provided that all the pre-requisites are respected.
* Update of 17/02/2021
Considering that during the academic year 2020/2021 online lessons are guaranteed for all the courses, it is possible to update the APSP with all the courses of the first semester of your second year.
If needed, students may open a ticket to request any changes in their APSP related to the inclusion of courses belonging to the first or second period.  Analysis II and Physics II remain mandatory if the student meets the above-mentioned requirements.
These courses will flow into your Annual Personal Study Plan following the same order in which you ranked them when you created your APSP and until they reach the maximum credit limit imposed by the workload you have chosen (part-time or full-time enrolment).
Please note:
  • exams passed during the Winter examination session will not be removed from your APSP. Your APSP will only be updated with your second-year exams following the order in which you ranked them.
  • if you earn the required number of credits in your core subjects during the Summer examination session, your APS will not be updated with your second-year exams.
We suggest you carefully read the rules for the creation of your Annual Personal Study Plan available in the previous chapters of this Guide and the guidelines provided in the curriculum of your Bachelor's degree programme.
If you have a part-time workload, you can change your APSP from part-time to full-time by 11th March 2021.
 Updating your APSP for an Internal Transfer
In accordance with art. 15 of the Call for applications for admissions a.y. 2020/2021 - section  "Internal transfers for Bachelor's degree programmes A.Y. 2020/2021", starting from a.y. 2021/22, internal transfers from a Bachelor’s degree programme of the Engineering area to another programme of the same area will be allowed only if new places become available for year 2 (based on the numbers of students admitted in a.y. 2020/2021). If the number of students requesting an internal transfer exceeds the number of available places, places will be assigned based on academic merit
For this reason, Politecnico di Torino cannot guarantee that your internal transfer will take place.*
* Update of 17/02/2021
For the academic year 2021/2022, these rules will NOT be applied to students who have already included 2nd-year courses in their APSP.
If you manage to reach the credit threshold in your core subjects by the end of the Winter examination session of your second year (Jenuary-February 2021 Examination session), you can transfer to another Bachelor’s degree programme for the next academic year. You can ask the Office of Student Services to include the second-semester courses of your new degree programme in your APSP through the ticketing service available on your personal page of the Teaching Portal.
We remind you that you must comply with the pre-requisites and the APSP maximum credit limit. You must also include Mathematical Analysis 2 and Physics 2 if you meet the above-mentioned requirements.

Please note that:
1) you remain formally enrolled in your current Bachelor’s degree programme for this academic year;
2) you must submit your internal transfer application for a.y. 2021/2022 in accordance with the rules and deadlines that will be communicated at a later stage.

If you want to transfer to the Bachelor’s degree programme in Industrial Production Engineering, you must take and pass an admission test. You can ask the Office of Student Services to update your APSP for this purpose at the end of the Winter examination session, but you will not be able to apply for a transfer to this programme in September if you do pass the admission test and are not conveniently placed on the ranking list.
