Student Guarantor
The Statute of Politecnico di Torino has introduced since 2000 the position of Student Guarantor. Art. 18 of the Statute states:
  1. The Student Guarantor is appointed by the Didactic Joint Committee as a contact person for students’ guarantee purposes. He/she is chosen among the University professors not belonging to the Committee.
  2. The Student Guarantor, on the basis of the reports received by the students and following the necessary inquiries, proposes to the competent bodies appropriate action and reports to the Committee.
  3. For matters involving personal privacy issues, the Guarantor of Students reports directly to the Rector. The Guarantor is appointed by the Didactic Joint Committee as prescribed by the Statute.
As far as students’ reports are concerned, the Guarantor has established the following procedure: students should write a message by email to garante.studenti@polito.it specifying the problem to be examined, or write a traditional letter with the same content at:

Garante degli Studenti
Comitato Paritetico per la Didattica
Politecnico di Torino Corso
Duca degli Abruzzi, 24
10129 – Torino

The traditional letter and the e-mail must be signed and must include the necessary references so that the Guarantor can get in touch with the author.
The e-mail must not contain attachments; the matter must be completely written in the text of the message; any additional documents, such as spreadsheets with the collection of signatures, must be sent or delivered to the office of the Didactic Joint Committee and shall contain a reference to the e-mail sent (sender, date and time).
The Guarantor receives only written reports and is not available for phone calls; if the need arises, the Guarantor will get in contact by letter or telephone with the author or the representatives of the authors.
The Guarantor shall take all appropriate action to preserve, where possible, the personal privacy of students who decide to go to him. Every message will be filed and will remain available for further actions useful to other students who are in the same situations.
