Politecnico inserted English Language as a compulsory teaching of the degree courses and requires the IELTS with a score of 5.0 or an equivalent or superior certification in order to earn the first level degree. The equivalence among certifications has been established by CLA (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo, Athenaeum Language Centre) and is valid for all competent didactic structures.                
The acquisition of the IELTS with a score of 5.0 or an equivalent or superior certification is also necessary to earn a II level degree: it is considered a requirement needed to graduate for courses in Italian, while it is considered a requirement needed to be admitted for courses entirely in English. The Master of Science in Automotive Engineering requires a certificate of IELTS 5.5 for the admission.           
It is worth always verifying that the language certificate possessed is compliant with the one required to earn the Master of Science, even if the language requirements for the first level degree had already been met.
