Line Builder Product Development
Duration: 236 hours (166+70)
Location: POLITECNICO DI TORINO – PARTNER COMPANIES

The module describes the Line Builder product development both as standard product and project product (customer work order) with reference to the partner companies' world.

The first part of the module is devoted to the project development, business development, sales & proposal and the following issues will be discussed in detail:
  • Partner companies' process system using quality management system
  • Methodologies and Tools for the Product Design & Development
  • Standard Product Development
  • Elements of Robotics
  • Robotics Product Development
  • Body in White Standard Product Development
  • Partner companies' approach to business development
  • Market and marketing
  • Market economics and sales
  • The machine tool industry, robotic and automation
  • Project proposal and sales in the partner companies

The second part of the module focuses on the analysis of issues related to the project management and particular attention will be paid on the following issues:
  • Managing Project in the partner companies
  • Planning & Scheduling
  • Risk management, Monitoring & Control
  • Economics in project Management.

The third part of the module is devoted to systems engineering and particular attention will be paid on the following issues:
  • Powertrain System Engineering
  • Body Welding System Engineering
  • Powertrain Tools & Techique
  • Body Welding Tools & Technique

The forth part of the module focuses on analysing the supply chain and the following topics will be covered:
  • Supply chain principles
  • Contract and purchase orders
  • Activity base costing
  • Negotiation skills
  • Contract application
  • ERP systems concept and application (MRP & Planning)
  • ERP systems applications (purchasing)
  • Partner companies' Sourcing Process & Supplier Management.

The fifth part of the module will focus on manufacturing and the following contents will be discussed in detail:
  • Introduction to partner companies' manufacturing
  • Manufacturing concepts
  • Statistical quality control in the partner companies
  • Industrial dimensional metrology in the partner companies.

The last part of the module focuses on logitics and tools and particular attention will be paid on the following topics:
  • Logistic and stock management concept
  • Inbound and outbound
  • GPS Global System Operating Environment
