The Guarantee
Committee /
Comitato Unico di Garanzia
of Politecnico di Torino (CUG) offers its services to the whole Politecnico
population: professors, technical and administrative staff, research fellows
and students. It encourages equal opportunities for everyone in study and work
careers, through actions intended to prevent and oppose every form of
discrimination based on sex and sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin,
religion, personal and political beliefs, disability and age. Moreover it
exercise proposing, consulting and verification tasks.
The
Guarantee Committee has a mandate of 6 years and it is composed by a president
(pointed by the Board of Governors under the Rector’s proposal, Ms. Cristina
Coscia), a number of delegates pointed by the BoG, few delegates from each of
the most representative unions of the University and a student chosen from the
delegation in BoG or Senate. Therefore the Guarantee Committee is composed by
11 actual members, 10 substitutes and one student.
Politecnico
Guarantee Committee has joined the CUG national network and it is part of the
international network CESAER as far as gender and gender planning issues are
concerned.
The Guarantee
Committee interacts with the Confidential Counsellor (Atty. Emanuela Marti,
http://www.mappaservizi.polito.it/servizi/getservizi/html/(W)/S/(S)/713), a
figure introduced by the Statute of Politecnico who who offers assistance and
consultancy to the staff and students in case of moral and sexual harassment or
discriminatory behaviours. Periodically, the Confidential Counsellor reports on
his/her activity with the Guarantee Committee.
The Guarantee Committee (CUG) has substituted and integrated the Equal Opportunities
Committee (
CPO, Comitato Pari Opportunità)
and it is at the service of the whole Politecnico.
